BASIC ADVICE FOR ANYONE WITH CONCERNS ABOUT A VULNERABLE CHILD OR ADULT
The basic advice is to reassure the person and if they are in immediate danger contact Social Services or the Police as a matter of urgency.
If not then the Parish representative - Rob Finney 07944 165 319 - or the Diocesan Safeguarding Office (Contact details below) are there to give advice. They have very strict guidelines on how any concerns should be handled and should be reported to the relevant authorities
Click HERE to download our Guidance Procedure if you have concerns.

HURT BY ABUSE
Have you or someone you know experienced abuse within the Church? If so the this Leaflet sets out the  commitment to you by the Diocese of Salford. It is also available on the Church Noticeboard.

TRAINING FOR ALL
NCSC_logo_smlThe Church has a responsibility to ensure all those who undertake work in the name of the Church are adequately trained in safeguarding matters.
With this in mind the National Catholic Safeguarding Commission have worked with EduCare to produce an  e-learning package that will raise awareness throughout the Catholic Community in England and Wales. The e-learning package is part of the Church’s commitment to safeguarding, and is available to all members of the Catholic community free of charge.
Click HERE for a pdf file, which gives an outline of the various courses and how they can be accessed
