Reidy Trophy & Inter-provincial vs Province 4

Our Hon. Treasurer, Joe Gaffey, won the Reidy Trophy at Wigan and we had an honourable draw with Province 4 with the scores tied. Well done to all on an excellent result for a team reduced in numbers due to other commitments

We continued our success with a narrow victory over Province 17 in a high scoring contest and David Parkinson retained the magnificent Danson Trophy

Ron Cain Trophy for Province 1

The Southwater Trophy was retained by Province 17 and Brian Lillis won the Ron Cain Trophy on a superb day for golf. Presentation by PGP Mike O’Malley

Murphy Trophy & Inter-provincial vs.Province 17

After an excellent day’s golf at Davyhulme Park, the Murphy Trophy for best individual overall score was won with an excellent score of 40 points by Mike Guerin of Province 17, who also won the Interprovincial match.

Once again our star performer was Brian Lillis, winning the McNabb Trophy for best individual score in the Province 1 team.

Captain's Day

Maintaining the pattern of world golf, another player from Northern Ireland became another first time winner by deservedly taking our major trophy of the year following a superb day’s golf at Blackley GC.

A special mention has to be made of the sterling efforts put into organising our golf for the year by our Secretary, Fred Slater. As anyone, who has been involved in organising Society Golf, will appreciate, it takes a lot of hard work and attention to detail to ensure the quality of outings we have had once again this year.
